Number 4 gully, Ben Nevis
:: Weather Conditions
Beautiful walk in late afternoon. Got thoroughly soaked on the walk out!
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
A nice layer of powder 3-6 inches for about the top 100m then rapid transition to soft spring snow, very heavy down by the lochan, but all good!

Walked from the north face car park up the path to the CIC hut. Another 20 minutes then crampons on in observatory gully and boot packed up tower gully. Waited about 40 minutes for the cloud to lift, but weather deteriorated. Skied Tower gully, the ski was great and by the time we passed the scoop the cloud lifted and the sun came out.

:: Weather Conditions
Ha! Everything. Started out with rain, then sunshine, hail and a blizzard. Light winds.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Almost a foot of fresh snow at the top. Snow from 900m up. Was sluffing, bit catchy as you broke through the 2nd hard layer into the 3rd softer layer.

Skinned up the goose to the summit, a lap of summit gulley then back down the goose and a combat ski to within a couple of hundred yards of the gondola.
:: Weather Conditions
Light wind, cloud that cleared away to let the strong April sun through. Fairly cool in the shade, FL around 700m.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Summit gulley was lovely, a good base and at least boot deep fresh on top. The goose was just transforming to give a smooth creamy ski over a sort of lunar landscape of undulating humps and bumps.

Aonach Mor - Summit Gully, Braveheart and then back down the Goose
:: Weather Conditions
Intermittant snow showers, light winds & freezing level circa 750m
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Ski's on about 200m above the gondola station with 100 % cover on the plateau area. Not a deep base but one which has partially melted then refrozen with fresh powder on top. No crust to speak of. Pretty even cover with little drifting.

Following last weekend's trip to Ben Nevis we decided to return to it's wee brother, Carn Mor Dearg 1221m. 9 hours plus on the hill from the Nevis Range car park was rewarded with fantastic spring snow conditions. So good we hiked up three times : )
:: Weather Conditions
A bit of everything, misty start, some sun, the odd snow shower but generally good visibility. FL seemed higher than the forecasted 800m.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Perfect spring snow. Any fears I had of an overnight freeze were thankfully totally unfounded.
