 The mist finally starts to relent and we get our first glimpse of the summit of CMD and the East face of CMD

 End of the snow and time to put the skis and boots back on the pack...

 Before the up comes the down...our route to CMD involves dropping into Allt Daim from the Nevis Range ski area and means losing 120m of height before going up....bad times.
|  As soon as snow was sighted, the pace was ramped up, the boys on a mission..

 Lap 2 line is a 50 degree 2 ft wide chute between two rock bands leading into the face proper...turning is 'optional'...

Following last weekend's trip to Ben Nevis we decided to return to it's wee brother, Carn Mor Dearg 1221m. 9 hours plus on the hill from the Nevis Range car park was rewarded with fantastic spring snow conditions. So good we hiked up three times : )
:: Weather Conditions
A bit of everything, misty start, some sun, the odd snow shower but generally good visibility. FL seemed higher than the forecasted 800m.

Perfect spring snow. Any fears I had of an overnight freeze were thankfully totally unfounded.
