Meal Nan Tarmachan.

From forest gate (too much snow to get further in 2wd) onto ridge and up to pt 923.

Never quite caught up with the party of 2 (plus dog) whose tracks eased things a fair deal.

Clag had settled in so down by fence on W side of ridge to give something to focus on.

Long sticky schusses over lower slopes.

Tyre track bobsled funnel on road all the way back to car.
:: Weather Conditions
Bright and sunny a.m. warmer stuff movedin from W as predicted.

Cloud stayed stuck down above 600m from about mid day onward.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Big fresh snowfall leaving lots of heavy soft slab.

Seemed to be full depth on open slopes which suggests it will be stripped in the current thaw.

Meall Corranaich from the Lochan na Larige road up the coire at the head of the Allt Gleann Da Eig.

Revisit to my first ever ski hill with my K2 Backlites which were re-assembled after a sale which fell through. Long story but despite the lean cover they never saw a rock all day.

:: Weather Conditions
Bright (very late) start, shocking winds from about mid day onward
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Open slopes scoured but nice soft slab in the lees and even the ice was good and grippy.

From Glenshee ski centre to Carn Aosda via the bottom of Butcharts, the 'shed' and the col between Carn Aosda and The Cairnwell. Returned down the line of the Butcharts Access Poma.
:: Weather Conditions
Clear at the car park but increasingly cloudy towards the top with occasional breaks. Slightly decreasing northerly breeze. FL about car park level.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Skis on at the car park. A bit stoney to start with, then uniform heather-deep cover of (mostly) unconsolidated snow (see pics). Some slight drifting near snow fences.

Not so much 'backcountry' as 'just-off-the-piste-country'!

Parked near the shed to the north of the summit on the Bridge of Balgie Road at 18.30. Walked about 1.5km then skins on and reached the summit at 19.50. Skis wer on for over 500m of descent but only the first 300m would qualify as skiing,
:: Weather Conditions
Sunshine and blue sky all the way up with the setting sun bathing the summit as I set off back down, Within 5 minutes of leaving the top cloud had dropped down and a heavy sleet/snow shower came through as I drove off.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Interesting heavy fresh snow with a developing crust at the top with an inch of slush on wet grass most of the way down. Surprisingly slick and skiable.

Beinn Heasgarnaich from top of Hydro road. Firstly our research led us to conclude that it is still permitted to use this road and the appearance of gates is to do with planting rather than restrictions of access. There are many large and deep potholes on the hill road. We followed the traditional route of negotiating the burns and up Coire Ban Mor.
:: Weather Conditions
We were in cloud from start to finish but we could see enough to have a good day nevertheless. Modest wind higher up. Around minus 3.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Less than an hour carry on way up. Recent snow gave a good skiing surface with a wide base higher up. Skied to top of hill road on way down.
