Chno Dearg and Stob Coire Sgriodain - from Fersit in Glen Spean, near Loch Treig.
Ascended to summit of Chno Dearg first as it's much easier. Abandoned going on to Stob Coire Sgriodain due to appalling visibility and it's a much craggier hill. Took a compass bearing and pretty much skied on it until I had to take the skis off again ! Photos to follow but I'll need to compress them first.
:: Weather Conditions
Morning - light wind, extensive low cloud base (600m). Mid morning some short breaks in cloud as sun tried to burn through. After lunch appalling visibility - down to less than ten metres on descent. Approx 0 deg C at summit level.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Snowline at approx 500m, lots of rough boggy terrain before I could put skins on. Extensive snow cover once this level was reached. Some exposed areas were a bit thin but mostly extensive covering with a firm crust despite a slight rise in temperatures.

On Sunday we climbed number 3 gully on the Ben and skied back down on good spring snow. We down climbed the first 20 ft or so as it was pretty narrow but after that it was all good right down to the Lochan. Number 4 our original objective seemed broken from below. On Monday the 10th we climbed Tower gully and skied back down. Pretty intimidating knowing tower scoop is below and a small sluff or missed turn could spell disaster. My mate Paul was over on "business" and actually bought skis over here to do this. So pleased he did as it is something I have hankered after doing for a long time.
:: Weather Conditions
Amazingly good and warm weather both days. absolutely balmy lower down at the end of the day.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Spring snow. Flattering skiing. Must have been 600 m vertical down Tower and Observatory gullies.

Quackski and Paul all the way from Australia to ski in Scotland in June !

Stob an Cul Choire via AM Summit Gully, exiting from bottom of the Braveheart. A nice wee bit of variety from the pistes esp with the backs being closed.
:: Weather Conditions
Dissapointing really, briefly hazy bluebird but a cold easterly up top with cloud beginning to touch the top of the Ben with Aonach Beag obscured with rapid contagion westwards. Freezing at all levels in the morning rising to c600m pm.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Hard, very hard although massive drift of windpacked powder top of Summit Gully gave a false sense of optimism and boiler plateish in the gully itself. West face of Stob an Cul Choire much better with large drifts of windblown pow. easterly aspects are heavily scoured and road round from Braveheart to Rob Roy was particularly poor. Lot of snow at the bottom of Bheart and once it softens and the chair gets running there will be good skiing.
