:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden
The Cheviot - car parked by Coronation Wood in Harthope Valley - up Cold Law, along to Scald Hill and up to summit, then long 4.5km direct descent to road near Langleeford and trudge back to the car.
:: Weather Conditions
Stunning clear blue skies and amazing views until about 2.30pm, when high level cloud moved in from the SW. Very windy with plenty of spindrift. A bit of cloud on the Cheviot summit at times
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Quite variable! Skis on from the car at 170m. Thick, icy crust above soft powder on NE slopes - easy to break through into heather in places. Best snow was on SE to S facing slopes - good stretches of drifted powder. Thawing fast below about 400m by mid-afternoon making the last 500m difficult in heavy wet snow. Fantastic day!

:: Weather Conditions
Perfect until about 2.00 PM until the cloud rolled in from the south west.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Deep, fresh, bits of windslab and windpack but all nicely skiable above 350 metres. Moist and slow below.

Cheviot
Parked at Langleford, interesting drive in with very white roads although the steep ascent and decent from middleton hall was thankfully black. Had to dig our own parking space. All season tyres worked well but used chains to return. Late start so followed hartburn then up sw side of scald hill and onto cheviot for 3pm. Returned more directly over scald hill and back to langleford carpark. One ski tourer and one walker.
:: Weather Conditions
Cloudy with light wind
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Wall to wall snow but hedgehope in particular looked good. Snow depth varied between ankle, knee and thigh. Soft with some heavier wind slab in places.
:: Skiers/Riders
Keith the walker up to his waist and Dave the smug skier.
