East face of Stob Ghabhar from Victoria Bridge. Dropped over a small cornice onto hard snow about 60m to North of summit, round north side of first rock cluster then traversing southwards under the prominent rock summit rock to regain the more gentle diagonal gully.
:: Weather Conditions
Freezing level 2,000 feet. Cloud touching the summit at times; some wind, moderating
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
A smooth surface of lightly crusted soft snow except under the summit ridge cornice, where the hard base was exposed.

Traverse of the Black Mount - Stob Ghabhar to Meall a' Bhuiridh via Aonach Mor, Clach Leathad and Creise
:: Weather Conditions
Broken cloud with prolonged sunny spells. Generally the weather improved as the day progressed, and it was probably too hot for comfortable skinning. I had dripping sweat despite being in a t-shirt. Should have used suncream too...
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Varied. Disappointing cover on the S face of Stob Ghabhar. The first 'walk in' for me this winter, just to the top of the woods north of the Clashgour hut. We had to remove skis for a couple of short sections lower down on the initial climb, and just for 100m in the bottom of the bealach between Aonach Mor and Clach Leathad.

A variety of snow, some nice, some nasty. A bit of windblown fresh, solid windslab, lovely (NOT) breakable crust, deep unconsolidated drifts clinging to exactly where we needed to walk.

Snow was softened by the sun on aspects exposed to the sun, and was wet enough to wet skins at times.

Creise is quite corniced on the E face. My first turn set off a small surface slide that concerned the others enough to down climb a short section on the climber's route.

Stob a Choire Odhair (Blackmount) from Forest Lodge. Ascent largely by stalkers path to vicinity of col below West ridge and on to summit. Coire Odhar was largely blow clear of snow. 600m of proper skiing until recrossed Allt Toag at 300m. There is a ravine on the Allt Toag around 500m that is not clear on the map to be avoided in poor vis.
:: Weather Conditions
Minus 5 or so feeling cold on the summit as wind picked up. Reaching the summit happily coincided with the one sunny spell.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Wide localised variations. The W ridge had hard weight bearing snow on N side, deep cover on the crest and unconsolidated on the S side. Good cover to the W of Allt Toag giving much better skiing than the general appearance would indicate - until fell into burn.

Stob Gabhar from Victoria Bridge via east buttress. Skied from south of peak northwards into lower couloir, walking one section as the new snow melted before I got there. 280m total vertical. Back between Stob Gabhar and Stob a Choire Odhair.
:: Weather Conditions
Mainly sunny with puffy cloud. Some spots of rain.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
New snow was wet but good to ski. It was balling, and possibly not safe on the steepest slopes.
