Where else in the world can you ski with a view like this? Well, maybe Norway.

Just below the summit of Aonach Mor. Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis beyond

Scoping the best line for a descent of Aonach Mor west face.

Pete keeping it tight on the descent.

A man on a mission. This guy was up and over the arete in a flash, heading for a descent of one of the Nevis gullies.

Traversing the Carn Mor Dearg Arete

Empty slopes on the Ben!

Report
:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden
Left the summit tow of Aonach Mor and descended the west face to the col with Carn Mor Dearg. Took a rising traverse up to the CMD arete on skins and foot. Across the CMD arete and on to the shoulder of Ben Nevis. Skins back on for the final climb to the summit. Descent via the Red Burn to around 650m. The walk out was a bonus.
:: Weather Conditions
Bluebird to being with then high level cloud. Windy across the CMD arete which made for some interesting moments while carrying the skis.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Bullet proof on the top part of Aonach Mor west face (we eventually found a softer line) then soft deep snow for the climb up to CMD. Windpacked and sastrugi over the summit turning to nice spring snow on the descent. The main issue was avoiding all those footprints - just how many people have been up there ?!

Snow cover all the way from the Aonach Mor top gondola to just above the halfway lochan on the Ben.
