Curious onlookers above the Quoich

Touring on what was available at the corrie rim.

My stuttering start into Coire nan Clach. The first turn is always the worst one.

High on An Diollaid

Coire nan Clach. My run was down the sunny slope directly above the right end of the large boulder!

:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden
Carried skis up onto Beinn a Bhuird, and walked round past the North Top. Skied a steep south facing line into Coire nan Clach before climbing back out. Walked to the South Top and descended the Allt an t-Sneachda to about 650m above the Quoich
:: Weather Conditions
Very clear
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Virtually none on the plateau for touring. You can ski round the corrie rims though! The descent into Coire nan Clach was chosen as it faced the sun so consisted of soft sugary spring snow which was perfect. The second descent of the day was on hard refrozen snow - I had left it too late in the day. It loses the sun a bit earlier in the day as it faces SE
:: Skiers/Riders
Scott Muir (with Jackie and Debbie at various points!)
