Report
:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden
Glas Maol from Ski centre.
:: Weather Conditions
Excellent weather if a little blustery on the tops. One or two isolated snow showers but generally lots of sun and strong winds.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Headed east since weather forecast for the west didn't look to good. It was good choice for weather but snow is becoming a little limited now.
Short day and after walk in managed to skin from Meall Odahr to near the summit with a couple of blank bits on the col and on the summit plateau. Snow was hard and chattery on the way up but softened up beautifuly for the descent. Droped into Glas Maol corrie from about half way down the west side where cornice did not look so imposing. Great ski down on grippy softening snow. Then crossed back to Meall odhar and skied piste home again.
Looks like still plenty snow on the plateau East towards Lochnagar but it is only at the higher levels now. Looking North To Ben Avon, Ben a Bhuird and the Cairngorm Plateau looks much more expansive with lower snow levels.
