• View Photos •:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden Beinn Teallach & Beinn a Chaorainn, clockwise from Roughburn by Laggan dam. Found an interesting line off Teallach among the crags; look for the tracks exiting below the wee couloir half-way down.
:: Weather ConditionsFabulous. Almost windless all day and improving visibility as thin cloud lifted. Made up for the iffy snow.
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionVery mixed. Heavy powder low down became windslab higher up, generally a bit thin for this type of tour and heavy work cuttng trail most of the day. Took 7+ hours despite good fitness.

:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionGood 500m upwards, then an area of sastrugi and wind scoured ground on the steeper parts. Also wind slab
:: Skiers/RidersPlateau itself covered in lovely stuff, wonderful based powder making for a very enjoyable day. Shame I knackered my self just getting up there. Richard Webb

A'Mharconaich and Geal Charn, Drumochter. Up the NE ridge of A'Mharconaich, down Coire Fhar, over Geal Charn to Creagan Mor and all the way down to Dalwhinnie
:: Weather ConditionsClear, cold, windless. Minus 8 at the roadside.
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionSnow conditions varied from turn to turn, so extreme care in choice of turning spot and technique called for! Some lovely soft snow high up and again at about 550 metres, mostly windslab above that and refrozen crust below. Run north east from Creagan Mor was a beauty, with the added bonus of a waiting car in Dalwhinnie!!

• View Photos •:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden Planned to do a circular tour round two small hills just south of Inverness to the east of Daviot brae -Beinn a Bheurlaich and Meall Mor.
:: Weather ConditionsSet off at the gate off the A9 at GR 724359 and headed along the forest path to the north. Cut through the forest to head up Beinn a Bheurlaich. However once I was out of the forest and climbing, the wind rapidly increased until it finally blew me over at about 440m, so I gave up and retraced my steps. Snow showers broken up by the occasional patch of sunshine. Calm lower down but the wind rapidly increased with height and as a result windblown snow reduced the visibility.
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionFreezing level about 300m About 9 inches to a foot of powder that was heavy at the start, 270m, but became dry and light about 300m
:: Skiers/RidersIt was totally unconsolidated and as most of the hillside is heather and tussocks of reeds, the surface was not easy going. To be honest doing it on foot, the way I always done it in the past, would have been a lot easier! Helen

:: Weather ConditionsDolomites (Arabba and surrounding areas) Sunny, blue skies, windless, FL: approx 1500m
:: Snow Conditions and DistrubtionVariable snow cover off-piste: from grass and rock to boot deep powder. Best snow on north facing slopes. Minimum hiking (from lift served areas) for untracked powder, especially in the trees at Cortina and Passo Campolongo.
