Carn Liath from Laggan road to Garva Bridge. Starting from an altitude of 300m we had a 50 min carry to 550m. There are some unusual gullies on the ENE ridge of Carn Dubh from 550m to 700m to catch snow and provide entertainment on both the way up and down. There were good views into the two coires to the south and on to Creag Meagaidh. We had a quick rockless 2km schuss back from the summit.
:: Weather Conditions
Monday was a cold bright day with minor winds.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Neve at higher levels. No breakable crust at any level.

Coll to east of Tom a Choinnich from Chisholm Bridge in Glen Affric. We skinned up the well covered track and on to Bealach Toll Easa where we encountered winds gusting 50mph so we skied back.

Creag Coire nan Each, part way to Mam Sodhail from Strawberry Cottage Glen Affric. Ascent and descent by slightly obscure ramp on south side of Creag a Chaorainn.
:: Weather Conditions
Bright with 25mph wind on upper mountain.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Good cover down to road level. The winds of the week prior blew much of the snow off the tops onto the lower ground. Freezing throughout. River Affric had a thin skin of ice.

Creag Coire nan Each south of Mam Sodhail from Glen Affric

Sunday was forecast to be less windy than Saturday so we chose Sunday for an attempt on Mam Sodhail. We sussed a way up to the ridge on the southern side of Creag a Chaorainn that was only a 40 min carry from Strawberry Cottage. Note image is a route not a track. More snow fell during the day giving snow to the valley floor. There is a very small knoll at NH 120 219 which is a marker point between the upper and lower mountain. It was about minus 7 with a 35mph wind and mixed vis.

At Creag Coire nan Each we split into two parties. Working round the ridge towards Man Sodhail we were literally driven back by the increasing wind in reducing visibility prior to the 1108 spot height. It took another hour to work our way back to Creag Coire nan Each by which time things eased off a bit. The warmth of the hut was a pleasant change.
