Skinned up from the top of the Ptarmigan and over into Ciste Mhearaid. Skied almost to the Waterfall, then skinned up to the summit of Cairngorm. Skied down Marquis Wells
:: Weather Conditions
Sunny, calm, -6C. Wisps of mist in valleys and on the plateau
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
In Ciste Mhearaid, there was powder on a hard rutted base.
The cover around the summit was thin but you could pick your way slowly down from it.
Upper Marquis Wells had wonderful powder, deep enough to not come in contact with the base. However it became thin lower down and I added more gouges to my ski bases!

After getting bored of ski area, headed over to ciste mhearaidh. skinned round to just 0.5km East of Cairngorm summit, after a short walk from top ptarmigan tow,
then had glorious descent of over 300m vertical on velvet like spring snow, and got within 300m of The Saddle. Then skinned back to ski area
:: Weather Conditions
sheltered from wind on this side of hill, clear and sunny spells
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
velvet like spring snow,
great ski run, highlight of day, a lot more fun and challenging than ski area, one particularly good steep pitch near The Saddle.
will also upload pics showing coverage towards plateau

Skinned up to the summit then went over into Ciste Mhearaid and skied down.
:: Weather Conditions
Slight mist on the summit of Cairngorm, enough to obscure the plateau, but lower down bright with intermittent sun. Was -2C at 1000m with a slight NW wind
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Grippy hard pack on Marquis Wells with drifted powder pockets on the west side. Ciste Mhearaid had mainly wind packed soft powder- lovely!

Skied Braeriach, starting by cycling up Glen Einich to (2)924 (8)021. Up to summit of Braeriach by way of the cornice above Loch xxxx an Lochain. I made a (steep) descent to the east end of the Loch, climbed and made a second (steep) descent and traverse to beyond the west end, from where a 100m walk westwards took me to a broken line of snow. The upper part of this line is easily seen from the bridge at Aviemore. From end-of-snow, I reached the bicycle in 10 minutes.

Statistics: Out of the total drop from peak to track of 2,650 feet, 2,250 feet vertical were on snow. The snow ran out at 1,850 feet.

Has anyone any suggestions for next weekend's ski adventure?
:: Weather Conditions
Mainly sunny, occasionally overcast. Light wind. Warm. The rain forecast for the afternoon at 08: 00 did not arrive.
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
Amazingly good. Firm enough throughout the full descent.
