NE face of Creise from side

looking down what remains of the snow on Meall a Bhuiridh's south side

NE face of Creise from 380m below the high and start point

Clach Leathad east face offered an entry point beyond the summit, and one close by with a nasty 2m high cornice. Safe and probably skiable.

looking down the Creise run; the rocks were better ordered than they appear here

:: Tour Route(s) or Location Skied/Ridden
Down a narrow, and only streak of snow on the south, i.e. back face of Meall a' Bhuiridh. Obvious next step: climb back up. Actual next step, traverse scree and sharp rock to the Bealach and up Creise to do the face so often inspected from the garden of the King's House Hotel. Clath Leathad offered a tempting alternative, but Creise was a better choice. I attempted a long traverse back beneath the ridge but got too low by mistake, regaining the top of Meall a' Bhuiridh via more steep screes and sharp rocks. Strangely, given the fabulous weather and views, it all felt worth it.
:: Weather Conditions
Fabulous. What freezing level?
:: Snow Conditions and Distrubtion
You may not believe this, but the snow was as good as Spring Snow gets, i.e. better than powder. Only 1" of soft over a very firm base.
