:: Route(s)
Lochnagar, Brown Spout Buttress III,5. Walk in OK with deer, grouse and ptarmingan for company, only 3 other parties in Corrie. Slope up to Buttress bit dodgy with Cornices waiting to go in gullies above. Big Avalanche came down the spout when we were half way up the buttress. Fair amount of powder on route with frozen turf and reasonable ice in the necessary places. Good route for novice III leaders as good protection available, Geordie Dave enjoyed his go on the sharp end.
:: Route Grade
Grade III
:: Weather Conditions
Weather OK, quite cold, snow flurries and brighter spells, wind no real problem.
:: Climbing Conditions
Big-ish cornices above most gullies that will go soon. We saw a spontaenous avalanche down brown spout. No neve but some icing on the cliffs starting to form. Conditions would be great with a bit of freeze/thaw.

:: Route(s)
Lochnagar - Central Buttress
:: Route Grade
Grade II
:: Weather Conditions
Fairly mild, very windy outside of coire. Some cloud.
:: Climbing Conditions
Very little water ice, but turf generally well frozen. Fresh snow transformed to soft sugar with some crust. Route generally in good condition, although slabby corner near the top snow field was awkward with no ice.
